Abstract:

Fencelines of Santa Cruz Island were connected with the shoreline coverage (scshrln_utm11) in ARC/EDIT to create pasture polygons. The shoreline has been corrected to 1994 DOQQ data for Santa Cruz Island, and the fencelines have been derived from the DOQQs and from hand-drawn maps.

Purpose:

Presentation of fencelines, and calculation of pasture areas.

Process_Description:

The shoreline and the fence vector layers were combined to create pasture polygons. The shoreline came originally from USGS DLG data but was then edited to conform to USGS DOQQs for Santa Cruz Island. The fencelines were digitized on screen using the DOQQs as background.
